Parenthood is a remarkable journey filled with moments of excitement and joy. But it’s also marked by questions and uncertainties.
Having spoken to thousands of parents over the course of many years at Cells4Life, listening to their experiences both pre- and post-birth, we became acutely aware that stem cell banking is not the only topic left out of most antenatal courses. Others include the benefits of upright birthing and delayed and optimal cord clamping. We believe that these are things all parents should know about.
Our evidence-led antenatal classes are the key to confidence and your roadmap to understanding the changes your body will undergo, the intricacies of childbirth, and the art of nurturing your child through those precious early years.
Realising that parents were missing out on this vital information, we commissioned Cass McNamara, inventor of the Comfortable Upright Birth (CUB) support, Managing Director of the MaMa midwifery conference, BBC Scotland’s Call the Midwife, optimal cord clamping advocate and midwife with over 27 years experience, to develop The Parents Class’ evidence-led antenatal course.
Today, in beautiful venues across West London, East London, Surrey and Sussex, we offer a Full Antenatal Course, designed for parents-to-be between 30 and 38 weeks in mind, covering all aspects of pregnancy and birth, as well as those exciting stages of early-parenthood.
Cass, now Clinical Director of The Parents Class, is responsible for ensuring that all of the course content provided by our expert, NMC registered midwives remains current, comprehensive and driven by science, so you can be certain that the information you receive will be information you can depend on.
Not only does our Full Antenatal Course provide the most up-to-date details on topics like pain relief options and infant feeding, it also covers those topics often missed by other antenatal courses, such as the benefits of upright birthing, stem cell banking and optimal cord clamping. All of the content included in the course is attentively supported by the latest evidence and research, and is consistent with WHO and NICE guidance, equipping you with the best and most accurate information for your pregnancy journey.
We have also developed a Mid-Pregnancy Course, tailored specifically to help you prepare for your second trimester. Although antenatal courses provide lots of good and important insights on pregnancy and childbirth, they sometimes arrive too late if you’re wanting to start learning about topics like nutrition, diet, and planning ahead.
In the spirit of making sure that you get access to evidence-led advice at every stage of your birthing story, we also created Our Community, a place where you can find invaluable resources, developed exclusively by experts at The Parents Class, whilst also meeting other like-minded parents. You can join Our Community completely free of charge and get access to Due Date Clubs, Chat Groups, and the opportunity to share posts with fellow expectant parents. Our Community also hosts all of our course materials, so when you book an antenatal course with us you’ll be able to find the accompanying resources online, simply by logging into your account. With advice from experts, access to course resources, and the opportunity to connect with other parents, The Parents Class Community is a place where you’ll be listened to and supported at every stage of your pregnancy, and beyond.
When it comes to preparing for the arrival of your new little one, we at The Parents Class believe that you deserve to know all of the best and most accurate information available. That’s why our midwife-led antenatal classes are informed by the very latest research and evidence, giving you complete peace of mind.
Delivered in beautiful, handpicked venues across the country, our affordable antenatal courses are designed to help you feel confident in making decisions about you and your family’s future. When it comes to making informed choices about your pregnancy, birth and early-parenthood, The Parents Class’ evidence-led antenatal courses have got you covered.
